Hội An

Hội An - the place that everyone seems to know and talk about. A historic port town active from 15th to 19th century, the town was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. It has retained the original and traditional wooden architecture and street plan.

We caught the public bus from Da Nang (20k pp). There were a few horror stories online about the ticket collector blatantly ripping off foreigners. Luckily, that wasn't an issue for us (although the advertised price was 13k but everyone seemed to pay the 20k). Similar to all of our interactions with ticket collectors, we handed the money over and received the tickets. The entire process took 30 seconds, in silence, minimal eye contact and no smiles / acknowledgements.

A visit to Banh Mi Phuong for their famous pork roll. Anthony Bourdain made a visit too (and his face is on the paper wrapper). Super delicious although S. got food poisoning from it.






Our ride back to Da Nang, with the best seats on the bus!
